About Us

Southampton Scrapstore is a small charity which has been operating for over 37 years and is based in Swaythling in the city of Southampton.  We are passionate about reducing impact on the environment, reclaiming clean reusable waste and offering it to our members as resources for art, craft, play and learning.

Less resuable waste is incinerated or dumped in landfill, benefitting the whole community.

This is no right way to use our resources, just add imagination and creativity.

Anyone is welcome to join as a member – our members include individuals, students, community groups, nurseries, pre-schools, children’s centres and schools.  We aim to give access to all the community to low-cost creative resources.

Southampton Scrapstore is a not-for-profit charity run solely by volunteers and we charge annual membership fees to cover overheads for operating the charity and our store premises.

We are governed by a Board of Trustees drawn from industry, education and the voluntary sector.
