Annual General Meeting 29th July 2020 7.30pm.

You are cordially invited to our 2020 AGM. We will be hosting it on zoom, so you needn’t leave the comfort of your own home to join us.

What is an Annual General Meeting?

An annual general meeting also known as an AGM, is a formal meeting, held once a year and a requirement of our constitution as a charity. We will share what has happened with you through our the last financial year, and what we hope to achieve in the coming year. For more information about AGM’s please check out this link.

It is a time for you, as a member of Southampton Scrapstore, to contribute to ideas of how to take the charity forward and raise any concerns you may have. It is a time for new trustees to step up and join the management committee and for those who have served a term to step down. A new chair person will also be elected.

We need our members support us in order to make decisions, confirm policies and move forward this year. If we do not get enough people attending this event, we will have to hold another one. Last year we had to hold three! We would really like to just have one successful meeting this year with your support.

We ask you to add this date to your diary and contact us to be added to the zoom invitation list. Please supply your email so we can email you all the information you will need to engage at this meeting.

Reopening 6th July

Southampton Scrapstore will be reopening on 6th July. We will have limited opening hours to start, this is due to extra cleaning needing to be completed and a shortage of volunteers to help.

We have missed you all and look forward to welcoming you back. We are bursting at the seams with resources and hope you are able to find some interesting materials to spark your creativity.

All members who had a valid membership when we closed, will receive a three month extension on their membership to make up for the period we have been closed. We are also hoping to stay open over the summer holidays in August when we would normally close. We are welcoming new members, please complete an application form online.

Monday 10.30 – 2.30pm

Wednesday 4pm – 8pm

Thursday 10.30 – 2.30pm

Only 3 members will be allowed in to the scrapstore at any one time and we are asking that group members come individually. Queuing will be outside, so please bring weather appropriate attire. Please use hand sanitizer before you enter. We are temporarily suspending signing in upon arrival.

Lastly, membership renewals, where possible, are to be completed online please. Renew my membership.

Following us on Facebook is a great way to keep up to date on opening hours.

We are one of the oldest charities in Southampton, and hope to keep providing to the community for another 35 years plus. As a not-for-profit organisation, we will still be facing over heads, if you can help us in anyway, please let us know.

Once we re-open we will be madly fundraising to catch up, we will hold our fabric sale as soon as viably possible – so look out for the date.

If your organisation would like to ‘sponsor us’, please get in touch. We will be checking our emails regularly. If your organisation can share our donate button and if possible – when everywhere reopens – have a donation pot for us, we would greatly appreciate the support.

Can you help us? How to make a donation

Southampton Scrapsore has been open for over 35 years providing a service to the community and doing our little bit for the environment at the same time. The charity can only keep open because of the dedicated team of volunteers who donate their time and skills, the organisations that provide materials for reuse, and the kind generosity of individuals who wish to support what we do and help us to keep going now and for the future.

We collect material donations from local businesses, but we also accept donations from members of public. If you have a donation you can contact us to arrange for a collection or drop it off to the store on a Thursday between 10.30am and 2.30pm.

If you would like to support us, you can make a donation via PayPal Another way that you can help is when you shop at Amazon using AmazonSmile at and Amazon donates to The Southampton Scrap Store, at no cost to you.

If you would like to get involved then please contact us.
