Christmas Craft Fair Saturday 9th November, (10 am – 3 pm)

Make your Christmas a sustainable one.

If your looking for something fun to do then come and join us at our Craft Fair with a the Ascension Church, Bitterne Triangle, Southampton (SO18 1HZ )

We will be selling lots of locally handmade products made by members of the community and our amazing craft volunteers.

Our mini Scrapstore Shop will be on hand with lots of make-it-yourself craft packs, craft gift sets along with some lovely craft activities using recycled materials.

There will be cake and refreshments to buy, activities for children to make, as well as traditional activities such as tombola, lucky dip and much much more.

New Management Committee Members Needed

Volunteers are the store lifeblood and without them, around 48,000 children and 6,000 adults wouldn’t have access to low-cost resources.  We love to share ideas about reusing materials and encourage our volunteers and members to help us to do the same. We have been open for over 30 years and we have seen many changes and we wish to keep on doing the same for future generations.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for individuals who have a variety of skills and enthusiasm.

We urgently need a new secretary as our previous one has recently retired and our treasurer is due to retire later in the year. We need new  trustee(s)  to help us to invigorate our organisation,  helping to create new projects  i enable us to grow and be more financially sustainable now and in the future.

We also welcome volunteers who able to provide new input in all areas and particularly individuals who are interested in assisting us to raise awareness about what we do, who can assist us to create new fundraising projects or and assist us to write funding bids/ grants are most welcome.

We welcome interest from people who variety of  existing skills an enthusiasm for the post and commitment  and  willingness to contribute useful skills

Join us for our AGM at the Steam Town Brewery, Eastleigh, 7 pm on the 11th November

We need your help.

We have now held two AGM meetings .  We need at least 15 voting members to attend the meeting but  unfortunately  this hasnt happened so we need to now call a 3rd EGM meeting which will take place on Monday 11th November at 7pm at the Steam Town Brewery,

.“The quorum for General Meetings shall be one third of the total membership of the Southampton Scrap Store or fifteen representatives whichever is the less.”

As a charity we need to keep our members informed about what we are doing and to be able to demonstrate this to charity commision.This is your opportunity to get involved and find out and help with our future plans.

We are in particular need of new trustees, we are working at the lowest number that we require to be able to function which is really not a good place to be ,  to enable us to grow we desperatly need more people to get involved so that we can develop  and become stronger

It is a legal requirement of being a charity that we hold a annual general meeting for our members and that the trustees of the charity provide reports of the previous years activities . The offices of the management committee have to also seek aproval to carry on in office and this is the time when people are invited to apply to become a  trustee.

Venue details – parking

There are a few spaces to park at the back of the brewery as well as accross the road . It is  also a short walk from the Eastleigh Train Station so its easy to catch the train
